Logfiles

Any time you encounter a bug in the game which you cannot solve by yourself, please check out the community pages or ask community members for help (e.g. on our discord server). Please always check whether your system fulfils the minimum requirements stated on our steam page. Any weaker systems than the minimum requirements are not supported.

In case it is in fact caused by some bug in the game, we will need your logfile. Please follow the steps below.

IMPORTANT: We always need the logfiles immediately after the bug occured, i.e. before you start the game for the next time. Any time you start the game, the last logfile will be overridden, which makes it impossible for us solve your problem.

Where to find your Logfiles

log.txt

As long as the game does not crash and there are no issues that could be system-related (such as graphics bugs or tremendous lags), we will need you to send us your log.txt. This will help us recognise your problem. In case you need to post the log.txt, follow these steps:

  1. Open a new Windows explorer window.
  2. Navigate to Documents\My Games\WinterResortSimulator_Season2\.
  3. Open the log.txt file using Notepad or any other text editor.
  4. Copy all of its content (Ctrl+A will usually select all text within the file) and send it to us.
  5. In case the file is too large to send as text, please use Pastebin.
  6. Please always include a description of your error and try to be as precise as possible. We need to know when the bug appeared to fix it.

Player.log

Unfortunately, it can sometimes happen that the game crashes. Such crashes are usually rare, but in case you are facing one of them, we need your Player.log file to find the cause. In case this happened to you, please follow these steps:

  1. Open a new Windows explorer window.
  2. Type %appdata% into the explorer's navigation line and hit enter.
  3. Paste this path %appdata%/../LocalLow/HR Innoways/WinterResortSimulator_Season2 to find the files
  4. Please send us the logfile via Pastebin. Usually it will be too large to copy-paste it into text messages anyway.
  5. Please always include a description of your error and try to be as precise as possible. Try to reconstruct the last steps before the crash. We need to reproduce the crash to fix it. (In most cases, crashes are caused by errors on your system, and not by the game itself).

Sharing savegames

In some cases, it could happen that you encounter problems with your savegame (e.g. issues regarding guest distribution, or in the worst case, a systematic problem with loading/saving). Should this happen to you, we need your savegame.

You can also exchange savegames with other users to share the maps you have created. Follow these steps:

  1. Open a new Windows explorer window.
  2. Navigate to Documents\My Games\WinterResortSimulator_Season2\savegames.
  3. Select the respective savegame (both the .bin and the .lua file).
  4. Preferably, add both of them to one .zip archive.
  5. Upload the .zip archive to a file hoster of your choice or post it as attachment.
